Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Server Time website (servertimeis.com) and the iOS app Floating Clock - Server Time, known in Korea as 오구오구. The website and app use different features and services, which are described separately below.

1. Information processed by the website

• Recent sites and preferences: Your recent sites, measurement results, theme and sound preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. We do not sync your recent-sites list to an account or server.
• Server-time measurement: The website sends the site address you enter or select to our server, which sends timing requests to that site. When you visit the website or make a request, our hosting provider may process connection and diagnostic information such as your IP address, request address and time, browser information and errors.
• Visit statistics: We use Google Analytics to analyze page visits, referral sources, visit times, browser and device information, cookie identifiers and activity on the website. Page addresses may include the name or address of a site you measure. IP addresses may be used to infer an approximate location. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

The recent-sites list in local storage is separate from visit statistics sent to Google Analytics. Clearing that list does not also delete statistics already sent.

2. Information processed by the iOS app

Server time and preferences stored on your device

The app sends timing requests to the site you select. That site receives your IP address and the request information needed for the connection. Recent sites, measurement results, notification and sound settings, blocked users, hidden messages and acceptance of the chat rules are stored on your device. Your nickname is stored on your device and is also saved on the server with messages you send.

Chat and reports

When you use chat screens, Firebase Authentication creates or reuses an anonymous user identifier. You do not need to register with a name, email address, phone number or password, but chat data associated with that identifier is processed on the server.

• Messages: We store the room, sender identifier, nickname, message text, timestamp and deletion status in Firebase Realtime Database.
• Reactions and viewer counts: We process selected reactions, the identifiers of users who react, and room viewer counts.
• Reports and restrictions: We process a copy of the reported message, room, sender and reporter identifiers, nickname, report reason and time, restrictions on chat use, and the times of recent messages and reactions to prevent spam.

Messages and nicknames are visible to other people in the room. The operator reviews reports to address complaints and protect users. Do not post personal information such as contact details or booking numbers in chat.

Advertising, usage statistics and diagnostics

The app displays ads through Google AdMob and uses Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring to understand usage and diagnose errors and performance issues. These services may process app, device and installation identifiers, IP addresses, device models and operating systems, app launches and screen activity, ad impressions and interactions, crash reports, launch times, network response times and other diagnostics. Firebase App Check processes Apple App Attest verification material to help verify legitimate app connections.

The app does not directly collect GPS location or request location permission. Advertising and diagnostic services may infer an approximate country or city from an IP address. The current app also does not request iOS permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites.

We use this information to provide chat and time measurement, display ads and measure their performance, understand usage, resolve errors, improve performance and prevent abuse.

3. Service providers and international processing

We use the following providers, which process information needed for the functions described above.

• Google LLC — Firebase and Google Analytics: Anonymous authentication, chat storage, app verification, usage statistics and error and performance analysis. The chat database is in the Singapore region; Firebase Authentication operates in the United States. Other data may be processed in countries where Google operates facilities. • Vercel Inc.: Website hosting, timing requests, security and operational diagnostics. Its service operations and policies govern the information it processes, processing locations and retention. Vercel Privacy Notice

Information is transmitted over the network when you use the relevant feature or an SDK operates. Features such as chat and advertising involve processing by the corresponding provider.

4. Retention and deletion

• Information stored on your device or in your browser: Kept until you clear the relevant records or app or site data. It may be restored through your device's backup and restore settings.
• Chat messages, reactions and anonymous authentication information: Kept until deleted from the server. Chat data in the current service does not have a fixed automatic expiry period. Deleting a message in the app stops it from being displayed in the room; the original text remains until separately deleted from the server.
• Reports and restriction records: Kept separately from ordinary messages for report handling and abuse prevention. Removing a message from a room does not also delete a copy included in a report. For deletion requests, we assess whether the record is still needed and whether any legal retention requirement applies.
• Provider statistics, diagnostics and connection information: Subject to each provider's retention settings and policies. Firebase states that Crashlytics begins deletion after 90 days. Performance Monitoring retains IP-associated events for 30 days, and installation-associated and de-identified performance data for 60 days. • Support inquiries: We use your reply email address and inquiry to handle your request, and delete them when that purpose ends. We may retain them longer where necessary to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation, until that reason no longer applies.

Uninstalling the app, changing your nickname or blocking another user does not automatically delete messages, reports or anonymous authentication information stored on the server.

5. Your choices and requests

You can remove recent sites from the website's recent-sites list. Browser settings let you clear site data and cookies or restrict cookies; doing so may reset saved preferences or limit analytics. See Google Analytics data safeguards for information about its data practices and controls.

You can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing by emailing [email protected]. For chat requests, include details needed to locate the records, such as your nickname, room and approximate posting time. We may request the minimum additional information needed to verify authorship and handle the request safely. If we cannot fulfill a request, for example because of a legal retention requirement, we will explain why.

6. Protection and contact

Connections to our website and Firebase are encrypted, and we apply authentication and database access rules to chat data. Access for operational purposes is restricted to operators with the necessary permissions. We cannot retrieve copies of public chat content that other participants have already seen or copied.
